Cheesy Potatoes

1 bag (2 lb.) frozen hash brown potatoes
1-1/3 cups half and half OR milk OR a combination of the two
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese, cut into cubes
1 can cream of celery OR cream of mushroom soup
onion powder
bread crumbs or crushed potato chips

Pour the potatoes into a large bowl.

Heat the half and half (milk or combination), the butter, Velveeta and soup until creamy either on the stovetop or in the microwave.  Sprinkle in the onion powder.

Pour the hot mixture into the bowl and mix well.  Pour into a greased 9x13 pan.  Bake 1 hour at 350.  Cover with the bread crumbs or potato chips.  Broil until browned.
